In many cases these animals end up being another member of their family and participate in numerous activities of their owners (from going to events to playing sports).
Today we tell you some of the best-known love stories between some celebrities and their four-legged companions. Keep reading and discover its secrets!
Bill Clinton and Socks
When the American Bill Clinton was still governor of Arkansas, he adopted a feline for his daughter Chelsea, which he named Socks . Shortly after, the Clinton family made the leap to the White House and the kitten, which had been picked up from the street, became the most famous pet in the United States.
During the two terms in which Bill Clinton was president, Socks ran alongside his master in the garden, sneaked into the press room or visited schools and hospitals. Its popularity grew so much that it had its own website and received a large amount of mail from all over the country.
The kitten died years after being a presidential cat, on February 20, 2009, at the age of 18... and thanks to his popularity, the day of his death is still considered International Cat Day in many countries .
Salvador Dali and Babou
The Spanish painter adored animals... but his love for the surreal and eccentricity did not allow him to have a normal pet: in the 60s he acquired Babou, a wild ocelot or leopard that he took on many of his trips.
One of his most famous anecdotes took place in the center of Manhattan (New York): the painter appeared with his partner in a restaurant and, to the general astonishment and terror, explained that his little one was a “normal domestic cat” whose skin leopard he had painted himself. A whole character!
Paul McCartney and Martha
In 1966 the Beatles published one of their most beautiful love songs: Martha, my dear . Many believed that Paul McCartney had composed the lyrics in honor of one of his lovers... but that was not really the case. As the singer explained, “ the song is really about my dog, and our relationship is platonic, believe me .”
McCartney bought his dog Martha in 1965, shortly after purchasing his legendary house on Cavendish Avenue in London. It was his first pet and soon became an irreplaceable life companion. Her importance was so great that the British musician declared his love for her on numerous occasions: “ she was a dog that he loved very much. I remember John being surprised to see me feel so much love for an animal .”
Little Martha lived happily until she was 15 and one of her offspring, Arrow , appeared on the cover of a Paul McCartney live album a few years ago. A love with a soundtrack!
Karl Lagerfeld and Choupette
The renowned couturier, who recently passed away, had a furry, four-legged muse: Choupette . The common history between the creative director of Chanel and this Siamese kitten began in 2011, and during all these years this feline became one of the designer's most loyal companions.
According to legend, the little girl has always lived a life of luxury and has had several servants dedicated exclusively to her. And not only that! He also has his own Instagram account… with more than 180 thousand followers.
The kitten was so loved by her owner that, when he died last February, she became one of his great heirs and will receive nearly 150 million euros. Almost nothing!
