Do you know the Celtic origin of Halloween?

Categories : Pet feeding

The celebration of Halloween is on October 31 and its origins take place in an ancient Celtic festival from more than 3,000 years ago.

Nowadays Halloween is a costume party where children go out to ask for candy with the famous “trick or treat”. Halloween is the contraction of All Hallow's Eve, or All Saints' Eve. It was also known as Halloween Samhain or “end of summer.” It was a festival that celebrated the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the new Celtic year.

They believed that during this night the souls of the dead returned to visit their homes. They lit fires to scare away evil spirits and wore masks to avoid being recognized. In this way, witches and demons were related to this day.

This holiday continued to be celebrated and arrived in the United States and Canada in 1940 through Irish immigrants, although it was not until 1921 when it began to be celebrated on a massive scale, having the first Halloween parade that year.
In this way, the rituals and beliefs of previous times were transformed into costumes and games today among the youngest.

In Mexico, it is an unforgettable experience for its citizens. It's called the Day of the Dead. Mass ceremonies are held to remember their family and friends, the graves are visited to fill them with flowers and offerings and their favorite dishes are cooked. In this country, the Day of the Dead is considered a National holiday.

Have you seen the costumes of this country?
