Can you imagine being able to take your pet to work every day? We spend more and more time at work and pets are part of the family; We often wonder if we are going to be able to meet all their needs given current work schedules, but can you imagine being able to take your pet to work every day?

We find more and more examples of “pet friendly” companies where our pets are well received. This custom is imported from the USA, where Rufus was the best-known precursor of this movement. Rufus was the dog of one of the Amazon executives and accompanied him to work every day. His greatest achievement was promoting the “dog friendly” culture in large companies.

In our country we find examples of companies where pets are well received and even have spaces specifically set up for them, as is the case of Pancho, the mascot of an advertising agency who, as its owner says, goes to the office part-time; Another of the creative agencies in our country says on its own website “We are a team of people and two dogs”, Maggie is the dog that accompanies the general director of another advertising agency on his work days; or Beta, which accompanies the professionals of an apartment rental website every day, and of course Google Campus Madrid, which follows the example of its North American mother house by welcoming the furry friends of the entrepreneurs that make up its structure. There are even business incubators where dogs or cats are welcome and enjoy the company of others.

But what are the advantages of taking your pet to work?

– Increases the feeling of belonging to the company.

– Promotes team culture and collaborative spirit.

– Generates a good mood, not only in the owner, but in the rest of the employees.

– They help reduce stress.

Although we must also take into account other aspects:

– There are people who do not like to be around animals, due to fear, allergies or other reasons.

– The animal must be perfectly educated and calm.

– Although at first it may seem like a source of distractions, as soon as “the novelty” wears off, it is no more distracting than a coffee with a colleague or a phone call.

And you do you think? Would you be in favor of bringing your pet to work?
