Dogs and crowds, bad combination

Categories : Dibaq pets

There are only a few days left for us to enjoy a few days of vacation and many of us will attend events, parties, processions or other types of situations in which there is a large influx of people. So we ask ourselves, is it a good idea for our dog to accompany us on these walks?

As always, the answer will depend on our dog's behavior, what he is used to and his character. But, in general, we can say that taking our dog to places where there are crowds is usually not a good idea.

Dogs are much smaller than humans, so their heads are usually much lower. This can make them feel overwhelmed, fearful, and cause stress that may be avoidable.

In addition, they can be stepped on by people who do not see them, causing injuries, trauma or blows.

In events such as processions there is usually a lot of noise. Likewise, at parties or festivals these noises are also produced, in addition to fireworks or pyrotechnics. Let's remember that our dog friends have much more sensitive hearing than us and these sounds can seriously affect them.

We cannot forget either that there are people who do not like dogs, they may even be quite afraid of them, and being in a place with a lot of people and a dog next to them can be a quite unpleasant experience for them.

If we are on vacation in a different place than usual or in our city, but in an environment that our dog does not know, to all of the above we must add the change of scenery in which he will try to smell everything and thus get to know it, but the influx of public is massive, you will not be able to and this can cause anxiety.

In short, your dog will have a much better time if you go to places where he can run and play freely and where space is not a problem. Find a park or similar with designated areas so you can run and socialize and you will have a great time together.
