Our Dibaq Group factories are located in Segovia, specifically in the town of Fuentepelayo, so we want you and your pet to get to know this beautiful region, with dozens of perfect plans to do accompanied by your furry friends. We tell you!
Around the city with your furry friends
The capital of Segovia is the best gateway to start getting to know the province accompanied by your pet this December long weekend. Its proximity to Madrid and its impressive monumental and historical heritage make it one of the inland destinations preferred by travelers. Whether you travel by car with your pet or arrive by train with your furry friend , once you are in Segovia you can enjoy the entire city on foot, since its heritage beauty is combined with the ease it offers of walking from one side to the other . Enjoy a pleasant walk with your pet through its beautiful and charming streets, visit its impressive Roman aqueduct and, so as not to miss out on seeing any of its essential points, stop by one of its three tourist offices, all of them are ' dog friendly ' -dogs are allowed-: the Puerta de San Andrés, the Visitor Reception Center (next to the aqueduct) and the Tourist Office of the Junta de Castilla y León (in the Plaza Mayor).
'Dog friendly' tourist spots in Segovia
Segovia has also enabled two tourist attractions so that you can visit them accompanied by your furry friends , as long as they do not exceed 15 kilos in weight and that they obey and respect the basic rules of behavior. One of them is the aforementioned Puerta de San Andrés, which gives access to a section of the wall walkway, with beautiful views of the city, and where you can also visit its Interpretation Center.
The other attraction that accepts pets is the Francisco Peralta Puppet Collection, which is located in Puerta de Santiago, very close to the Alcázar. The exhibition includes 38 pieces of art that represent characters from plays taken from popular romances, classical literature, among others.
For its part, you can consult the Segovia City Council website page for tourists with dogs, which provides information, among other things, about places, accommodation and restaurants that allow pets.
Incredible towns to travel with your pet
Visiting small and historic towns is another perfect plan to do with your furry friends this long December weekend. The province of Segovia also has some of the towns classified as the most beautiful in Spain , such as Ayllón, Maderuelo, Sepúlveda and Pedraza. Four places where time seems to have stopped and where animals and humans will enjoy a charming getaway. In the case of Pedraza, you should know that its impressive castle does allow dogs to enter its interior patios, which are a delight to visit, as well as in the walkway of the wall and in the old prison, which is also dog friendly.
Other notable towns, not included in the list of the most beautiful, which are also a perfect getaway with your pet to get lost in its streets and enjoy its landscapes and castles, are the town of Cuéllar, which also allows you to walk along the walkway of its wall; or the flirtatious Turégano, with a beautiful castle.
Hiking routes in the middle of nature
If you are thinking of a plan more related to nature or active tourism, traveling with your pet to the Hoces del Río Duratón or those of the Río Riaza is a perfect plan for these days. Wrap yourself up, take everything you need for your furry friend and let's go for a walk! These two natural sites in the province of Segovia will surprise you with their beauty and faunal wealth : in the Hoces del Duratón lives one of the largest colonies of griffon vultures in Europe. Both places have good access by car to their surroundings and simple, long routes along the banks of their rivers that are perfect for traveling accompanied by your furry friends.
What do you think of these getaway proposals with your pet for this December long weekend? Do you dare to discover the lands of Segovia with your four-legged friends?
